Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals clear, easy to learn techniques for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best restaurants in New York, studied the tradition of Italian cuisine, and the culinary landscape in Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for culinary arts and food at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic experience for me. I couldn't learn enough couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and it has had an impact on her perception of food. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who face obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador, where she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne says during her career in the kitchen that she's grateful to be able share with others what is really important to her.
